- SPARKLING WINE -
DOMAINE BALIVET, BUGEY CERDON, SAVOIE, FRANCE (ORGANIC) $23.99
In the foothills of the Alps northeast of Lyon exists a little-known wine growing area named Bugey Cerdon. Bugey is the area and Cerdon is a small town within. In this small region a hand full of dedicated growers continue to produce a wonderfully refreshing, off-dry rosé sparkling wine, the Méthode Ancéstrale. Lightly sparkling with just 8% alcohol, this is the type of wine that is perfect for the holidays when the house is full of guests. Very unique and highly recommended. (Organic)

2008 ERNST & CO, SAUVIGNON BLANC, STELLENBOSCH, SOUTH AFRICA $9.99
Husband and wife team, Ernst & Gwenda Gouws, assisted by their three children, make delicious and affordable South African wines. Their Sauvignon Blanc is made in a very light style and makes for a great apéritif, just 12% alcohol, and refreshing flavors of citrus.
2007 BLACKSMITH CELLARS, CHENIN BLANC, MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA $14.99
Blacksmith's dry Chenin Blanc is back! 100% Chenin Blanc grapes made in stainless steel. Chenin Blanc is always a wonderful addition around the holidays with all of the different food flavors to pair. The Turkey and trimmings await.
2007 CANTINA TRAMIN, PINOT GRIGIO, ITALY $14.99
The picture perfect town of Tramin is noted for dry white wines. This is a classic, fresh, crisp, dry Pinot Grigio that will please at any party. $13.49 per bottle by the case.
2007 GRAMONA, "GESSAMÍ, PENEDÈS, SPAIN $19.99
One of Catalonia's best kept wine secrets. A blend of four grapes, primarily Muscat with Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer. Slightly off-dry and fruity, 11.5% alcohol and wonderfully refreshing.
2006 ESTERLINA, CHARDONNAY, RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY, CALIFORNIA $19.99
Excellent value, mineral and citrus qualities with a very light splash of oak, and will balance nicely with Thanksgiving dinner without overwhelming the food. Only 785 cases produced.
- RED WINE -
2007 MOULIN DE GASSAC, "GUILHEM", VIN DE PAYS DE L'HERAULT, FRANCE (ORGANIC) $11.99
Syrah, Grenache, Carignan & Cinsault grapes from 25-50 year vines grown organically on the windy, sun soaked shores of the Mediterranean. No oak to meddle with the clean fruit in this charming wine. This is one of the best dry red wine values in the store, highly recommended! (Organic)
2007 LE FRAGHE, BARDOLINO, VENETO, ITALY $15.99
Yes Bardolino, Remember back in the day? Well those days are gone and Italy is making delicious Bardolino. This a fruity dry red wine that can even be served on the cool side, perfect for turkey. Straw baskets not included, just kidding.
2006 DOMAINE CONFURON-COTETIDOT, BOURGOGNE PASSETOUTGRAIN, FRANCE $18.99
Half Pinot Noir & half Gamay grapes from Burgundy. Poor mans red Burgundy at its best with just enough stuffing to pair with many a holiday fare. Red cherry fruit flavors with a very light pepperiness. One glass is just not enough, too inviting.
2006 DOMINIQUE PIRON, CRU BEAUJALAIS, BROUILLY, "DOMAINE DE COMBIATY", FRANCE $19.99
My top choice for turkey day. Over the years I tend to select Cru Beaujolais for Thanksgiving dinner because it complements the meal so well. This years favorite is the Piron Brouilly, what a fantastic wine. Explosive aromas with plummy, juicy, red fruits and ripe grape flavors. At twenty dollars a bottle this is the deal to be had, and you could even age the wine a few years, imagine that!
2007 BROADLEY, PINOT NOIR, WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OREGON $22.99
Broadley's 2007 Pinot Noir is ready to drink right out of the gate. Medium-weight, a touch earthy and floral all at once. Think cranberry aromas with cranberry stuffing, get the idea?
